Don’t Throw Out That List

With allthe stir about social media marketing coming up more and more business owners are switching marketing strategies. Business mailing lists are getting thrown out in place of hipper and more up to date techniques. Before you throw out the mailing list, keep in mind what this marketing technique has to offer. There are a number of reasons why business should not completely say good bye to email marketing.

Although email marketing is one of the oldest strategies in the marketing books, it works. With a simple business mailing list, business owners are able to reach out to a lot of people with just a few clicks. On top of this, it is a cost effective method of letting people know about goods or services. It gets the message through without the need for fancy advertising.

Plus, there’s no forgetting that it can reach all age groups. Not everyone has gotten hitched on the social media train. Letters can get to anyone and everyone. People will not need to watch something or log on somewhere just to find out about a business. Not to mention that an email from a business mailing list gives a more personal touch too.

This is not to say that email marketing is more effective than social media marketing. Both are powerful tools that can help any business out. The challenge lies not throwing out the business mailing list, but using it together with the more current techniques like social media. Who would not enjoy reading an email with video clip? Or, why not add a widget from a social media network group to that letter? With two great strategies the possibilities are endless.

The Latest News Update

Corona Banquets

With the USC coaching staff at the Galen Center Founder’s Room for a recruiting banquet, two big pieces of news have come across the wires.

For one, offensive lineman Seantrel Henderson (St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Durham Hall) has not signed his letter of intent, instead waiting until USC appears before an NCAA infractions committee on Feb. 19-21. Henderson announced earlier today he would attend USC, so this development comes as a surprise. The story was first reported by the New York Times’ Thayer Evans, who had followed Henderson and his father Sean around for the last week of the recruiting process.

The other development is more positive. USC received a commitment from junior college defensive end Marquis Jackson (Santa Clarita, Calif./College of the Canyons), who toldUSCfootball.com on Wednesday night that he will sign with the Trojans.

Jackson, committed to UCLA as of Tuesday, decided to switch after complications with the letter-of-intent process with the Bruins. His signing still has not been officially announced by the university, but is expected to come by Thursday.

To close out Wednesday’s developments, USC has signed 18 recruits, with two more expected in the next day (Jackson and fullback Soma Vainuku) and one more player committed but without immediate plans to sign (Henderson).

Those 18 signees are, in alphabetical order:

  • WR Markeith Ambles (McDonough, Ga./Henry County)
  • DB Dion Bailey (Lakewood, Calif./Lakewood)
  • RB/WR Dillon Baxter (San Diego, Calif./Mission Bay)
  • DB Anthony Brown(Rialto, Calif./Kaiser)
  • OL Giovanni Di Poalo(Ventura, Calif./St. Bonaventure)
  • TE Xavier Grimble(Las Vegas/Bishop Gorman)
  • DB Patrick Hall (Oxnard, Calif./St. Bonaventure)
  • RB D.J. Morgan (Woodland Hills, Calif./Taft)
  • WR Kyle Prater (Maywood, Ill./Proviso West)
  • LB Hayes Pullard(Los Angeles, Calif./Crenshaw)
  • DB Nickell Robey(Frostproof, Fla./Frostproof)
  • QBJesse Scroggins (Lakewood, Calif./Lakewood)
  • LB Glen Stanley(Thatcher, Ariz./Eastern Arizona JC)
  • TE Randall Telfer(Rancho Cucamonga, Calif./Rancho Cucamonga)
  • TE Christian Thomas(Palmdale, Calif./Highland)
  • DT George Uko (Chino, Calif./Don Lugo)
  • WR Robert Woods (Carson, Calif./Serra)
  • DB Demetrius Wright (Corona, Calif./Corona)

Storage Exist in the Downtown Area

Original author / posting found at:  http://www.selfstorageblog.com/use-self-storage-when-visiting-chicago/

Downtown Portland Downtown Storage

Use Self Storage When Visiting Chicago

Elgin self storage places are not too far from Chicago, Illinois.  Chicago is one of those places you must see in your lifetime.  It is one of the biggest cities in the world and big buildings exist in the downtown area.  The Sears Tower is here and was once considered to be the tallest building in the world until another very tall building far away in another country took the title.  Chicago complained because they said the Sears tower was actually taller if you did not measure the antenna sticking out of both buildings.  The antenna was taller than the Sears Tower antenna, thus Sears loosing the title of world’s tallest building.   Oh well, Chicago has been in second place a whole lot.  New York called Chicago the second city, New York being number one.  There is still a great rivalry between the two cities and it is a lot of fun.  In sports, the Chicago teams do not like the New York teams and Michael Jordan had some epic battles with the New York teams in Madison Square Garden.  Jordan always played good in the Garden, and Knick fans did not like loosing all the time.  In hockey, the Rangers and Black Hawks have been battling too, for many years.  Baseball has the hated Yankees and the Mets, Chicago has the Cubs and White Sox.  Chicago never had a Babe Ruth, but a Walter Payton and Dick Butkus.

Elgin self storage places are also close to many other sites and places to be in Chicago.  Navy Pier is a hot spot in Chicago, Illinois.  A few years back it was the tenth most visited place in the United States of America.  It is a long pier that jets out in Lake Michigan.  As you walk the long pier you see great things on it.  There are places to eat including Forest Gump’s.  They serve shrimp, as you might be able to guess and a whole lot of other things too.  Oh Yeah, the movies is played on TV sets around the place all the time.  The pier has Jazz clubs and a theatre, and even a carnival like area.  It has a great big and tall Ferris wheel that gives one great views of the Chicago skyline.  Chicago has a great one.  At night, the lights from the city are very beautiful and the pier is packed with tourists and visitors alike.  Many downtown residents come too, as the boats speed off the pier and into Lake Michigan.

Elgin self storage places in Illinois are not too far from these great places to visit in Chicago.  The children’s museum is at Navy pier too.  It is a highly rated place to take the kids for a look.  Than you can eat shrimp and even watch fireworks over the lake.  Lake Michigan is so big it looks like an ocean.  It is vast and deep and you can not see to the other side.  The speedboats leave the pier almost every twenty minutes and the people thrill to the boat’s roar.  A stained glass window exhibit is here too and it is very interesting to walk through.  We never miss it when we go and it is free.  Parking is not free though, and Chicago is a hard city to park in sometimes.

Buying an Email List – Learn the Right Way

Original author / posting found at: http://www.ducttapemarketing.com/blog/2010/04/21/the-right-way-to-buy-an-email-list/

business-mailing-list-provider.com

If you think you can forgo email marketing in favor of Twitter of Facebook you are sadly mistaken. Email marketing is still the most responsive form on online bar none.

So, building up lists of emails is a task you must put some effort behind in order to kick your email marketing efforts into gear. The problem is nobody really wants more email, particularly spam from unknown sources. When I talk about buying email lists, I’m am not talking about buying or renting so called opt-in lists from list brokers. I’m talking about offering something of value as a way to motivate someone to willingly exchange their email address with you in order to receive your offers and additional contact.

That’s right, the price of getting emails has gone up over the last few years and you’ve got to get creative in order to build your lists. You’ve got to earn those email subscribers!

Here are a few offers that work every time

1) Great how to information. Create checklists, forms, and detailed instructions for things that your prospects might want to know or use. This is something you should be doing no matter what, but using this information to attract email addresses is a proven winner. Hubspot is a great example of a company that produces tons of useful info.

2) Free tools. Create templates, rank checkers, calculators and widgets and let people use them to their heart’s content and even enable them to pass them around. Aaron Wall of SEO Book is a master of this one.

3) Coupons. Give people something of value towards a purchase or free trial and watch them line to get on your list. You can use tools like CellFire to automate and deliver your coupons to mobile devices.

4) Access. Create a membership level for information and community that starts with registering. This can be done with membership software like WishListMember or even through a WordPress plugin that reveals additional content to registered users.

Once you collect those email addresses keep pounding away with value, don’t abuse them with offer after offer. When you continue to add value through great content and education they will turn themselves into buyers and referral sources over time.
